Where we’ve been

A table, a wheel, a message board, and a lot of good conversations.

· San Francisco

UCSF Liver & Kidney Health Expo

Our first booth. We set up a table with a myth-or-fact wheel, a stack of small pink hearts, and a board that asked visitors to write a note to a living donor.

People took the invitation seriously. Some had donated; some were waiting for a transplant; some had simply never thought about what happens to a donor afterwards. One visitor read the notes others had left and was moved to tears.

Thank you to the UCSF team, the volunteers, and everyone who stopped to talk. We came home encouraged.

“You gave many more tomorrows to somebody and their loved ones!”

Meet Liv

A heart that carries the green ribbon.

Liv is the Life4Donors mascot. The green ribbon is the ribbon of living donation, and Liv carries it everywhere.

Liv travels with us to expos and health fairs, waits on the booth table as a small keepsake, and turns up wherever people are writing notes to living donors. At the UCSF expo, Liv went home in a lot of pockets.

If you spot Liv at an event, say hello, take a picture, and tag @life4donors.
